About Dr. Nora Muakkassa
Dr. Nora Muakkassa is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical retina, cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology. She grew up in Syracuse, NY, and earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University. She received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then completed her ophthalmology residency and medical retina fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, where she later served as an assistant professor for two years.
In 2019, Dr. Muakkassa moved to Denver, CO, where she has been dedicated to providing top-tier eye care to her patients. She is also the co-founder of OphthoGenie, an innovative online platform designed to help ophthalmologists prepare for their oral board exams.
Outside of work, Dr. Muakkassa enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and black lab. She loves gardening, hiking, and cooking.
